Sesol is a very young company and has, through clearly defined and focused work, grown to become one of Sweden's leading comprehensive suppliers of solar cell installations in just a few years – and already has approximately 1,000 employees. Growing so quickly places high demands not least on the HR department and part of their work was to set up a whistleblower tool, something that HR manager Amanda Bitici Högberg was given the responsibility to do.
In this customer case, she explains why the implementation of Visslan was one of the smoothest implementations they have ever done.
Why is corporate culture and whistleblowing important to you?
Amanda says that it has been important for Sesol to continuously work with the company culture in several different ways. "That work has created a great deal of commitment among our employees, which in turn has contributed to a familiar and inviting feeling that we have managed to maintain and develop despite our rapid growth", she says.
She also highlights the importance of whistleblowing and the promotion of a so-called Speak Up culture: "Within the Sesol Group, we want to live what we teach and actively work to be the modern workplace we say we are. We strive to create an open and transparent work environment where we actively prevent misconduct and reward the courage to tell about what is unhealthy or not working".
What problems did you face and why did you choose Visslan's whistleblower tool to solve them?
"We are an organisation that has proliferated in a short time, and in connection with the Whistleblower Act coming into force, we were looking for a flexible solution to handle whistleblowing in accordance with the requirements of the Act and that was available for everyone to use", says Amanda.
Furthermore, she points out that they wanted to enable anonymity and objective assessment of incoming cases, which Amanda points out as particularly difficult to interpret from the meaning of the law. She also mentions smooth implementation, user-friendliness and high GDPR standards as requirements they had for the whistleblower tool.
"We felt that Visslan could deliver this to us", she says.
How was the process of implementing and launching Visslan's whistleblower tool?
"The implementation process was very simple and was one of the reasons why we chose Visslan as our supplier", says Amanda, adding that they looked at several different whistleblower tools. "The simplicity of Visslan quickly stood out."
The fact that Visslan had good knowledge of the tool, very good contact and were easy for Amanda and her team to reach when they needed or wanted to were other reasons why the implementation felt easy.
“It was easy to book appointments and they were very available! It was one of the smoothest implementations we've done.”
What would you like to say to the companies that are just starting to implement their own whistleblower tool?
"When implementing systems, it can be experienced as a jungle of different solutions. We found Visslan quite easily online and for our part, I would advise sticking to a smooth, digital solution that is GDPR-secured, which I feel Visslan delivers", says Amanda and continues: "Don't complicate it!"
